The Arc Insurance Project works to assist families who have a loved one with a developmental disability understand and utilize their private insurance policies and increase knowledge of basic health insurance issues, including the Affordable Care Act. A certified navigator can also assist you with the process to apply for your health insurance. You may work with a navigator in any county in Indiana.

According to a publication of the Department of the Treasury Internal Revenue Service a new tax credit that helps consumers pay for health insurance begins January 1, 2014. Depending on your income and family size you may be able to lower your monthly premium through advance payment of the premium tax credit. The credit is for people who have household income between one and four times the *federal poverty level.
